"Peter Mandradjieff's solo exhibition, Part and Parcel, is comprised of a group of large paintings and small studies. Each painting represents an investigation of the relationship between atmospheric perspective and informal gesture. Just as an idiom in a given language does not translate to its literal meaning, so too the pictures do not simply add up to their constituent parts. They resonate and linger in the realm of sensation and affect. Scaled to a human body, these tapestries of velocity and caress create composition from visual distortions, erasure and fragmentation. Asserting different representations of space in flux, they invite viewers to be submerged into the details and experience them on their own terms." Text taken from press release.
